So these cuties came right up to the fence yesterday and said " how could you eat us?" you know it's healthy to be a vegetarian. Go on try it. One proceeded to feed on mama, so little messyfish wanted to show them how it's done. Both big mummy cow and I were feeding our babies at the same time and she was looking me in the eye the whole time. No kidding... I felt the connection. I ate potato spinach frittata for dinner....

Wow wow wow, you live on an amazing piece of land! All that serenity and beauty. And cows! Looks like a bit of heaven. Little messyfish becomes more and more adorable each time I see him. Is that even possible??? And WHOA to your sand pit! Good grief, I know how heavy logs can be, and those look absolutely back-breaking! How ever did you manage! Looks like the ultimate sand pit, I must say. Shall I bring my own shovel? :)
Oh, I do have a soft spot for cows! Just lovely! yum to the frittata too, feeling very hungry now! Vic xx
Sounds like a lovely moment.
I've had similar experiences....and struggle often with the whole eating meat decision. It's hard. I eat meat rarely and mostly only sustainably harvested wild meat such as roo or rabbit (or animals from happy organic farms). But then I think of one of my fav docos 'One of the Mob' (about Kangaroos) or the book Watership Down and feel awful.
