Dragon Fruit

I did this with coloured pencil on a smooth quality drawing paper. I prefer the smooth paper. I love botanical artists work( I just bought a new book called "brush with Gondwana" its full of absolutely beautiful botanical illustrations from Western Australia). I do enjoy the space I go into when I am doing intensive detailed drawing. It is meditative and peaceful.

This is an absolutely beautiful drawing. No wonder it is your favorite. It makes me feel like I could reach out and touch it. Now that is an accomplishment since I am looking at it on my crummy computer screen.
