I really wanted to use my pure pigment pastels, that blend so well with water. I only have a few colours (i used them all). I have been feeling quite crazy, so I just sat down and drew. I made this cactus up... (its a messyfishicus greencacitus actually!) Happy cactus monday all xxx

I just love your cactus painting with those gorgeous colors, and it was great that you included the botanical name, messyfishicus greencacitus!

It looks like a very special, festive balloon!! Great job ;)
What a creative blog. that cactus drawn is surely magnificent.
Cheers!
Marvelous!!! SOOOO happy, this one. :) Oh, Mesyfish, I've missed so much fun here. I am cracking UP over your Object. That is stupendous! Can't wait to see what else you do.
By the way, I see your gorgeous dragon fruit on the side there, and I have a question. When you're working with colored pencils, do you lightly outline in regular graphite first, or do you just jump in with the colors?
Hi Bella, when I work with pencils, I lightly outline with a lead pencil first then lightly block in the colours. I did the dragon fruit from a photo (which I think, technically is cheating...but dont care!)
I have it from a high cactus authority that this is a perfect watermelon cactus specimen otherwise known as aquapricklyfruit.
I am so sorry I missed this one.
The green is so bright & vibrant. I loved the colors:)
Very cute:)
