My Creative Space

Softie in progress (just waiting to get to mums house to use the sewing machine). new wool and cotton and linen threads (purchased the other day)
Today I cleaned up my creative space as quickly as possible, to make room for what ever took my fancy. I had a whole hour, where Mr Messyfish took baby Messyfish for a walk. I asked for some time out because I was going quiet balmy. Depression was looming, as I had had no time to myself for 3 days, and I was getting very bored following the baby round the house and changing nappies. I ended up doing some more work on my colored pencil drawing of the mussel. Now I have had a break, I am totally in love with baby Messyfish again, and love hanging out in baby land. Amazing what one tiny little very short hour can do to improve mental health.

it feels like you have had a little mental holiday when you get some time just for you. I dont think husbands will ever fully understand the value of the break they give young mum when they take bubs for a walk or a play in the park( maybe a little later on for your bubs). enjoy:)

Good for you. You will have to remind the hubby you need this time more regularly. They don't understand because they aren't "there" all the time. He would understan if you went on a retreat for a whole month. ;)

Your mussle picture is better than the photograph you drew from. So neat and tidy too. Wow.

same happens in my son and dil house, he has to take over for a while and give her a break. soooo hard for young mums...will never forget that! lovely space to work. deep breaths now..in and out and in and out...and make that hubby help you more...training..that's what the misters need.

Breaks from babies are very, very important (and children), it's not natural to be on demand 24hours a day. I'm glad you got some time to recharge. The mind numbing boredom of domestic tasks gets me down too.

Nice to meet you, I love your drawing of the mussel, it's very beautiful. Your softies are also gorgeous, the felted beard gnome one is both hilarious and perfect.
