Bird Mobile

I am going to make a bird mobile with felted birds. Here are the first two. It will probably take me 10 years to complete. The tapestry I started when I was 12 is almost done. Seriously though I am going out of my mind hanging with a baby 13 hours a day. baby messyfish must be as bored as me. What am I meant to do? I am starting to accept that solitude does not exist anymore for me now I am a mum. Even late at night when everyone is asleep, I am listening to Mr messyfish snoring through the baby monitor...

Ah, the joys of motherhood! and as for the snoring through the monitor - that really made me laugh!!!! Unfortunately, though you can turn off the monitor later, the source doesn't get any better with time!

Poor Messyfish dealing with the realities of Motherhood. Children change your life like nothing else. It does get better as Baby Messyfish grows a little older. Hang in there. The snoring though doesn't stop unfortunately.

14 years later and I still find little time for my own self-obsession. At least you have time to pursue your creative self. When Rosie was young I started so many new projects and learnt so much about the 'home arts'. Its a precious time for both you and your little Messy one. Embrace it, it goes too quick. Love your birds!!!

AAAGH the snoring! I laughed out loud! nothing seems to change that, except that now my daughter is old enough to complain about it as well :)("daddy snores too louder").... but yes the rest does get easier. I love your birds they are beautiful! very inspiring, can't wait to see more x

What a cool idea for a mobile! I love how colorful your birds are. And they are bigger than I imagined! This will be a treat!

Oh, I'm so sorry. Being home with a young baby is one of the hardest adjustments I had to make. Your time is not your own, and there's only so much you can do with baby. But this, too, will end. And then baby will be all grown up, and you will wonder where this time went. You're an incredibly creative person. I'm sure you can focus your mind on creating something fun for both you and baby messfish. Just keep the felting needles away from him, okay?

xoxo
