Note To Self

Dear Messyfish,
Stop buying things! You have enough stuff... Books are nice, but there are alot of them already! have you seen how many boxes they have filled??

Good luck - this has never really worked with me, although I admit to being a lot more picky about what I buy - but equally, there's a lot more nice stuff to buy!

hey, why don't you start a 'pass it forward' group....leaving a book at a bus stop, on a train, etc, for someone else to read...with a note inside to say 'pass me on'...? it was done here in london and was fun.

Hey thats a great idea soul, but I am a hoarder, and could not bear to part with a single book of myn. I have a terrible memory, and objects that I hoard have memories for me. I will think about it though, for a few of the books I have!

Messy Fish, go to this place
http://www.bookcrossing.com/ and maybe you will be able to part with some of your books. FUN.

i am a near 100% library girl. I got sick of spending money on them, and I get sick of all of them building up and me having to dust them. I like giving them back after I've read them! It's just plain wonderful...oh...plus I like how the hardback books crinkle with that clear crackly plastic covering they put on!!!

I have to admit to hoarding books too. Most of them are nonfiction. Even with though I can search for things online, I still find my books useful. Just like you I wouldn't want to part with them if I didn't need too.

Continually telling myself to stop buying things but I seem to go on autopilot when I see artsy fartsy stuff!
