Meet My Neighbours and Take a Tour of my New Home

Another May Gibbs' Illustration (stolen from somewhere on the net)
The cranky lady who lives next door
The skinny worty teenager from down near the creek
The cranky old man who lives on the other side
The giant who thinks he can live rent free in our yard (I am certainly not going to tell him to move on!)
The uptight straight laced "so an so" lurking in the bush down the back (old gossip she is!)
The axe murderer's left some evidence (found in all remote country places)
Leathery old farmer, staunch and not budging despite economic growth pushing farmers further out
Down the road
Up the road

Thats the tour over! I am still not happy with my new art room, so I am going to spend some time moving things around again...its procrastination, but I am justifying it....maybe some art next post (I hope)

I enjoyed your post, full of anthropomorphism, like at my place.

Julie, I am glad you are jealous, I would be of me too if I still lived in the city!!, but where you love is divine too!

Now Lisa, you had better visit me, cause Maxy the dog and your big dog can hunt the axe murderer down once and for all.
Thanks teri!

I love the reference to the ax murderer - of course they live in my neighborhood too, just waiting for me to do something stupid like walk outside late at night to check on some sound. Your trees are so interesting - what are all the bumpy things? pinecones?

Hi PAK, of course I DO go out and check on the creepy noises late at night. I would make a good movie star! The bumpy things are Banksia seed pods. The illustration is of a "bankisa man". Google Banksia and you will probable find out more. All I know is that they are Native Australian, and very cool to collect and draw. But dont throw them at anyone, it could kill (uh oh...hope axe murder doesnt get any ideas....)
