Wattle

May Gibbs' Wattle Babies (picture stolen from somewhere on the net...)

I Love wattle, and its starting to bloom. The bush is full of yellow powder puff balls! Such a delicate scent... I got a moment today to go for a wander down the backyard and take these pics with maxy the dog.

Thanks for sharing.
Both the illustration and the blooms are incredibly mysterious and beautiful!
Make me feel extra happy!

Your wattle shrub looks something like our button bush. I love the puffy blooms. I can see how they would inspire someone to make up a sweet little person to glorify the shrub.
