Rock cakes

Inspired by katiecrackernuts I went to make rock cakes from my commonsense cookery book. She has a 1939 edition. My edition is 1966. When I read the recipe I realized that it was in pounds and quarts and all those measurements that this "mum of toddler" can NOT be bothered translating! So out came my trusty fail proof reliable time and time again Womens Weekly. I love WW it's the best. Rock cakes are yum too. Easy and fun. Here is a recipe similar. I substituted craisins for currants and raisins (cause its what I had, not because it sounds like craisins is a spelling error!)

Rock cakes.?? They look like chocolate chip cookies to me. My favorite. I would eat them no matter what you call them.

They do look tasty. And this is funny, I asked my husband to pick up cranberries from the store, he came home with craisins. I'm like what? I'm going to give them a go tonight. :D

Ah, looks like someone was enjoying the mixture. I put whatever dried fruit I had handy too. Who has time to dither with these things. Sent you a Jam Slice recipe. It's my pantry go-to. Flour, butter, brown sugar, jam. Yup, that's it.
