I have also been reasearching a new career path. Thinking about starting a graduate diploma in education ( Montessori ). Thinking about moving closer to the Montessori school too.... Homeschooling is not for me. Change change change. When will I ever get to plant my lemon tree in the ground???

Change is good. Here I though LMF was kneeling to say his prayers. ha.. Housework for the little ones. A great passtime. tee hee...
as a teacher i think home schooling must be gruelling. save yourself and the relatonship with your son and do it, you go girl!
My son went to a Montessori preschool he love it. They only had pre school up here. I love the self directed style of learning but I also love the parts of the Steiner School too.
Montessori would at least be fun!!!
aah, homeschooling would be so hard for me as an ex teacher - I am pretty happy for mine to go swim in someone else's style for a bit. We love steiner and are so happy that there is a steiner stream in a mainstream school near us - with luck that will work. W loves his steiner kinder - so in keeping with our values. I don't know much about montessori though.

me too...everything I thought I knew about what I wanted is flying up in the air right now...I'm waiting to see the pattern that forms once it lands.
My son goes to a Montessori/Waldorf preschool. I volunteer there once a week. It is a lot of fun...you'll learn so much from the kiddos.

Strawberry friends look like my kind of people! Hope the Montessori idea goes well...I never tried homeschooling - I think I would have been a good teacher but am afraid I'm not very structured and would have had a hard time sticking to any kind of schedule. Good luck to you!
i think it's a very good thing to let children learn from others! when you find the right school and the right environment, it's amazing how much they flourish from being exposed to that different world. my daughters will come home with stories or they'll share things they've learned, and i'll think, "wow! i never would have thought to tell or teach them that."
have fun exploring your new paths... change and fresh paths are good!
