Christmas story

As a recovering athiest I am not sure what day baby Jesus is meant to appear in a nativity scene? I was going to place him out on Christmas eve, light 100s of tea light candles and put up gold stars all over the house to create "reverence". Mr messyfish will take little messyfish for a walk, so when they get back the magic will suprise him. What do you think?
I needle felted this one and popped him in a walnut shell for a cradle. It's so cute. I can't wait for little messyfish to discover it.
I got the design idea from the wonderful and lovely marie at Softearthart
