Weekly Rhythms

In keeping with Steiner daily/weekly/yearly rhythms I have made a new weekly rhythmn chart for the fridge. We are flexible with most of it of course, but knowing "what and when" really helps little messyfish and I. If we dont do this, things get "crazy", and we run out of food, I dont know what to cook for dinner, he wants to paint when I am trying to pack the bag for a day at Montessori, He wants to go for a walk, when I want to cook dinner etc etc. We have also decided to stop taking him to his Steiner Playcircle. Its a lovely group, but there is too much packed into a short time, with too much shuffling (and sing songing) the child round from place to place. The deciding factor was noticing him bite his hand upon entering Playcircle. He would bite so hard that welts would form from the teeth marks. A sign of tension. Not necessary for a 2 and a half year old! Time to get back in tune with my little one, and connect with compassion.

I wouldn't take my child anyplace that caused that reaction. I don't blame you for not going there. What a colorful calendar.
