At
Creative Every Day the theme for July is "self". Thats not hard for me, because I am so self obsessed (unfortunately)...I am working on it though! I have needed some time for myself lately, as a 1 year old and a business, and a move to the country has left me INSANE! So I combined this need, with the need to make my new art room more arty. I new that only the smell of oil paints, linseed oil, and turps would be capable of such a huge ask. This is the result. Its the view from the window where I sit. It was sunset looking east, (the sun sets in the west here).

I love the red sky at night...sailors' delight! Have you heard that before? Red sky in the morning, Sailor take warning!!! Anyway...great painting...it is relaxing to look at, for sure!
It looks like you must have a beautiful view. I hope the studio is everything you want it to be. Sounds wonderful to have a window looking out on beautiful scenery.
oh this is yummy, i love your oils work, tis captivating
I cant wait to visit.
What an inspiring view. Yes, you need time for yourself. When Momma is happy everyone is happy. You aren't being selfish. There is only so much time in the day. I can't wait to see more of your countryside through your art. A splendid job here.
You are so passionate about art Messy fish.
You made me laugh here, the combinations of the oil paints, linseed oil, and turps.......
The painting is beautiful!! And good for you for taking time for yourself (it's nothing to feel bad about!)
Like they say on the airlines, put your own air mask on first and then help others. Without getting your own oxygen first, how can you be there for anyone else? :-)
i hate to be picky... but doesn't the sun set in the west everywhere?
yes Mr Messyfish you are probably right, but I am delirious and overworked and have not had any time to be an adult, so I am thinking, writing and spelling like a baby...and and and and dont get me started!.....
This painting is awesome, I love the colours. You are so very talented. Art is a great way of expressing oneself, especially if you have your hands full with 'life.' Don't ever stop.
