I hope baby Messyfish feels better now so you both aren't shaking. Maybe his medicine should be a different flavor. Maybe he won't be fooled by the flavors.
Lisa, strangely(or not so actually) he opens wide for the homeopathics, but shuts tight and turns head and struggles for the more evil pharmaceuticals. Unaltered intuition!
The grandma's have the right idea. Disguise the smelly stuff with good stuff he likes. Of course when I do this with my cat he spits it out. LOL But hopefully babyfish will like the good tasting stuff and take it and get well fast. Mommy just needs to relax and pretend to be confident and soon she will be. Is this a first babyfish? It gets easier with time and experience like anything else. Hugs to you both from Grandma Lynnie.
poor baby....hope he feels better real soon. i remember the days of trying to get my kids to take that dreadful tasting stuff. i used to mix it with a bit of honey for aaron. maybe have something yummy that he loves as an enticement, at the ready for him, the moment he takes his medicine.
I'm sorry your baby is not feeling well. It makes me feel so sorry for the little ones because they can't even tell you how they feel. I worked in vet clinics so I gave my kids medicine like I did cats and dogs. Trick them, mix it with good stuff or slip it in when the mouth is open.

My mom used to pinch our nose and force the medicine in... I don't think it worked. Nice motherly take.

Poor baby .. and poor baby messy fish, too. :-)
Hope he feels better soon.
Mine are now teenagers - and sometimes it seems like, as hard as it was, it was easier when they were babies!
