Feminism

I imagined I was waking upon a 100 acre farm in the middle of nowhere this morning. I am in fantasy I will be happy there. I know this is dangerous. But I am excited. Growing vegetables, baking bread, looking after Little Messyfish, doing arts and crafts and housewifery. It's like a dream come true and a major step backwards for feminism!
mr messyfish says :
"I reckon it's the new feminism. Doing what you love and getting supported to do it."

It is mr messyfish, you are right. There is a whole network of " housewifes " blogging about it. It's a female underground ( yet highly public) resurgence! One blogger has a whole button on her blog called "housewifery " and lots of helpful tips.
With the impending death of the supermum we need to all learn how to hold a baby, breastfeed, and cook wholesome meals again. The pram that holds the latte whilst enabling you to go jogging will be a relic of the past. A strange item that we look at in amazement and say... " why was it so important to stick our baby in a cart and speed them through the city streets amongst the pollution just so we could get skinny?" I bet a few Thai restaurants will feel the pinch in the next decade as we stay at home and learn to cook slowly again.
And I won't even begin on how it will benifit the next generation!

That is a golden moment' wish i was there to see it in person, so happy you captured the moment...

It is as it should be, that you see a glorious muddy puddle, feel like dipping your head in it and you have a mummy that lets you go with that' My babies loved dirt and mud, some of my favourite memories were letting them have their way with it and in it'

Wise Mr Messyfish!

100 acre farm sounds like heaven on earth and wholesome way to live and love life and your family'
ADVENTURE! xox

It looks like Little Messy Fish is flourishing in this environment. Good for you.

Oh you are lucky to have this luxery.
And is that little messy fish drinking the dirty water on the path? OY VEY!!! Tell him please it is not coffee! LOL
Too funny.

I'm glad you get to stay home with your child. It reminds me of years ago on Welfare, I did the same, but ran a little childcare nursery school out of my home to keep us in slow cooking meals.

OMG! I pray you are correct on this! I'm sorry, but kids in my generation were outside playing, climbing trees, etc all day till dark...we were learning to get along with others, getting sunshine, and exercise! Our Moms were home giving out love and security...not only to us, but to our friends as well (as were all of the Moms in the neighborhood). I can only hope and pray a younger generation will come to realize all of the short and long term effects of this idea!!!

So true! What wonderful skills to learn and they should be valued as much as having a career.

Enjoy this precious time - nothing wrong with staying at home with your child and doing what you love!!

I'm with you a 100%. I think we all need to do without a few of the luxuries and spend more time at home. Spending time with your child is priceless, no one can do it as well as you. I feel for the mothers who aren't able to do it. I was fortunate to be able to take a couple years off work when they were small and then work part time for awhile. I wish it had been more!

I feel the same way. When I have kids I intend to do the same, and I can't wait!

Sometimes I think feminism is taken too far nowadays. You said it all so well.
