Candle holders for upcoming winter months

Rice paper is painted with guache then cut into small squares and glued onto recycled baby food jars. After it dries I will attach some wire around the neck of the jar and then I will put a tea light inside. I might also fill some of them with beeswax and a wick if I can ever find out where to buy the wicks !?

You know, if you want to melt wax and pour it into your jars...I have seen where, instead of using wicks, you can buy small tapers, and just hold them standing up in the midle of your jar, then pour in your melted wax to make the whole candle. You can probably find marked down tapers at a department store, and they become your wick! Even for shorter ones, like your baby food jars, you could probably use birthday candles!!! You can make quite a few with one pack of birthday candles!!! You have got me thinking about this now. I love jar candles for safety mainly!!!

Love the idea! You are so ingenious. Where is a good spot to source the rice paper from?
I have made my own wicks out of cotton string type substance before... technically I should have spliced it and then covered it with wax before using, but I was in a hurry so I just finger knitted it... it seemed to work ok at the time.
