Finished! Time to wrap him. Hope he is loved...
A note about waldorf dolls, quoting Sharifa Oppenheimer from the book "heaven on earth"
"As the child nurtures and "mothers" the doll, he is - not simply metaphorically, but also in reality - caring for himself. It is important therefore that we offer a doll that closely resembles him, not so much in features but rather in proportion. The child's "felt experience" of the doll will remain with him. So lets keep the doll simple, proportional and tactilely truthful...
Waldorf dolls come close to these parameters. They are made of natural materials, soft to touch, but stuffed tightly with wool. This makes them soft but firm, just like our child is. They are also designed with the correct human proportions, the baby dolls having larger heads, rounder tummies and shorter limbs, as human babies do....The facial features of these dolls are minimal, only a stitch for the eyes and mouth, and a bit of blush for the cheeks. This encourages the child to practice the full range of human emotions through the doll..."
